Whether you are TTC or concerned about the tick, tick, tick, of the biological clock (especially if you’ve married “later” in life) and are concerned about “how much time you have” to have a family, experts point to certain fertility indictors for women of all ages.

· Regular Menstrual Cycles: Women who are consistent with their menstrual cycle (generally every 26 to 32 days) can feel confident that they are ovulating normally.

· Reaching The Apex Of Ovulation: A women is at her most fertile during ovulation, which usually occurs about 14 days before her next period. Predicting ovulation can be accomplished via the use of a basal thermometer or one of the more “advanced” and easier to use and understand over-the-counter urine kits.

· Cervical Mucus: This thin, clear, and stretchy discharge signifies an increase in estrogen and is a sign that a potent egg is being produced.

· Healthy Weight: Reaching and/or sustaining a healthy and normal weight for your age, height, etc, and indulging in a well-rounded diet, concentrated in zinc and vitamin E, may increase your ability to conceive. Experts remind women that although being overweight may conflict with your ability to conceive, having too little body fat may cause a potentially greater risk, due to it’s ability to inhibit ovulation.
