It’s pretty “easy” to eat low-fat, healthy foods when you live on your own, but when you’re cooking for a man and family, salads only go so far. In fact, while the way to a man’s heart is (partially) through his stomach, it’s likely he prefers dishes like lasagna, chili, steak, burgers and burritos, none of which are waist or weight friendly. Still, besides using low-fat alternatives to the traditional including whole wheat pasta, and lean meats, experts suggest there’s another, very tasty and healthy way to trim the fat off some of our favourite foods.

They recommend using chopped mushrooms in lieu of meat. In fact, studies suggest that those who replaced meat with mushrooms ate nearly 420 less calories that those that served up more traditional renditions of the same meal and they were just as satisfied and stayed just as full.
