First it was the wedding day photo shoot, then couples caught the engagement photo “bug”, followed by the day after and honeymoon shoots….not to mention pregnancy photos to commemorate another memorable milestone.

But, now there’s also the beguiling boudoir photo session. And, this sensual experience can we rewarding for both partners as they both unleash and explore perhaps unchartered territory.

But, smiling and saying cheese, may not be quite so easy, especially if you’re concerned about your photos coming out, pardon the pun, cheesy.

So, whether you plan on experimenting or practicing at home, or posing for a “professional” photo shoot and surprising your spouse, there are a few tips and tricks for your sexy photo shoot.

· Think outside the box: And, into some books, magazines, and online. Find photos of some of your favourite models and practices some of their most popular poses. Just remember, don’t do anything you find offensive or aren’t comfortable with.

· Get glowing: Enhance your “appearance” and the atmosphere with some selective and creative lighting. If you’re having photos done by a professionally you can ask them about candles and other ambient lighting options.

· Practice makes perfect: Pose for the mirror before you pose for the camera. And, try a variety of different outfits and looks possibly even recording or taking a few pictures of yourself building both your confidence and your own unique expressions and your own personal style and image. And, if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again for a look and image you’re most comfortable with.

· Stay true to you: If you’re somewhat of a “tomboy” or an avid sports fan, don’t try to be a sultry siren. Instead play up your own attributes. Consider a sexy oversized jersey and some tube socks with stiletto pumps or high-heeled sneakers. Make your smile and your expression genuine, give yourself permission to feel silly and giggle. Remember, giddiness and “innocence” can be very sexy.

· Have fun: Give yourself permission to enjoy the experience, again, even if initially you feel silly. Once you get photos in your possession try not to be too “critical”. Instead, store them a way for a few weeks or a few days, it’s likely you’ll like them and yourself more, after you’ve let some time pass by.
