8 month old & bottles
Did anyone else's LO begin to ween themselves off a bottle??
Joey lately has not been eating his 11am bottle.
this morning he downed his 7oz but my Mom just called to tell me she's been trying to give him his 11 o'clock bottle for an hour now.
Did anyone's child get down to 3 bottles at 8 months????? It concerns me a bit. (I mean he'll still be getting 21 oz a day as long as he eats 7 at 3pm & 7 at 7pm)
he does have a little cold but he started to do this before his cold, he'd drink like 3oz at 11 and be done with it.
Does my child hate formula now?!

Re: 8 month old & bottles
could he be teething? DS had a horrible teething phase, when it was at its worse a few days ago, he was refusing bottles
Thankfully, subsided since then

Re: 8 month old & bottles
I was also thinking teething. It was near impossible to give Landon bottles when he was teething.

Loey will be 7 months on the 18th and he is constantly refusing his midday bottle!
DH said he just wants solids... but IDK - I think if I were home he'd BF at that time so I'm not sure!
I'm no help.. but interested in hearing what others have to say!

Re: 8 month old & bottles
When DD was 8/9 months old, she was down to 21 oz. a day, too. I didn't know why, but now that people are mentioning teething, that really might have had something to do with it - she was teething badly at that time. Do you think that could be it?

Yes! Mine! I was a little freaked too but then realized I could give him 3 bottles and 3 meals and it was perfect
They only need 16 to 24 oz a day at that age.

by 8 months abby was def. down to 3 bottles a day. they were only 6oz so i slowly upped them to 8 oz to try and make up for that 4th bottle she dropped... and now at 1 she still only takes 3 bottles.

Re: 8 month old & bottles
DS has been gradually decreasing the amount he drinks each bottle as we've introduced more and more food.
He still has the same number of bottles but, they are smaller.

Re: 8 month old & bottles
This is helpful. Really. . it is. It makes me feel so much better.
He skipped the 11, ate all of his lunch, is napping and my Mom is going to see what happens when he wakes from his nap.
He could be teething but I feel like we associate everything nowadays to "maybe he's teething". & no teeth yet!!

that is what he is basically having lately. 3 bottles, 3 meals with puffs in between. Did you make his morning bottle later or afternoon bottle earlier?? I feel like 7am and 3pm is a massive gap!!!
