I love him. I used to watch him on Tudors. They had originally wanted him to play Edward in the Twilight movies, but by the time they went into production he was too old to play the part (ie. they said he was too manly looking).

He was up for the part of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter too. When I found that out, it blew my mind!
He also lost out on playing James Bond to Daniel Craig (went with an older Bond) and was supposed to play Superman in Superman Returns but the project was restructured and they gave the part to Brandon Routh.

Unfortunately I heard the rumors of Ian Somerhalder being considered for the role of Christian and then I couldn't picture anyone else but him while I was reading. For Ana I think Elizabeth Olson would be perfect, with long brown hair of course

More an more I look at this thread, Henry is so for the part as Christian. Ian is alittle older but not right for it. I can't see him, he is a pretty boy IMO. I really hope when they do choose it will go to Henry. He is so delicious to look at.

I completely agree with you. It kind of ruined the book for me because I can only picture him as Christian and it felt wrong.
