usually the bank, but call ahead first.

Bank, Insurance companies ( like me, Im a notary).

Some pharmacies are too.

ditto on the banks and pharmacies.

eta: Some banks won't notarize for you unless you have an account there. I went to Teachers to have something notarized and they wouldn't b/c I didn't have an account. So check on that too when/if you call.

I'm a notary and my co-worker is a notary so we go to each other. You can go to a bank. The local library or post office may have someone, if you call ahead.

Be sure NOT to sign it ahead of time & bring ID with you.

Otherwise, you can FM me if you're around my area.

If that happens again, you may want to take along this with you:

Notary must officiate on request.
The Penal Law (§195.00) provides that an officer before whom an oath or affidavit may be taken is bound to administer the same when requested, and a refusal to do so is a misdemeanor. (People v. Brooks, 1 Den. 457.)
