How long does it take to get a ring re-sized?
I need to get my engagement ring re-sized (it fits fine, but when it is on with my wedding band, it makes my finger look like a strangled sausage  ). It only needs a very minor adjustment... how long does this take typically?

It should only take a matter of minutes. I wouldn't let the ring out of my sight while it's re-sized. They should do it right in front of you.

a couple of minutes.
I had mine resized when we went to buy our wedding rings. The guy did it right in front of me.

Wait - one caveat to my previous post -- it's going to be a lot more complicated if you have diamonds all the way around the band...

Thank you! My main concern was that they were going to tell me it would take a few days and I'd have to leave my ring.
My e-ring is a just a diamond solitaire and a plain band, so that should help to avoid any complication.

I had mine resized at Gennaro Jewelers in Bellmore. They did it right in front of me and it didn't take long at all.

I have diamonds all the way around and I had to leave it for a 2 days (luckily the jeweler is a family friend so I felt safe...although sad without my ring).

If they tell you it will take a few days, tell them you're going elsewhere. I'd never let my ring out of my sight -- I don't care how reputable the jeweler may be. They should be able to size it in front of you.

jeweler that DH used for my e-ring re-sized it right there---10 minutes to resize and clean it.

I don't remember, but I had both of mine done and I remember thinking it was less than I'd expected.
